			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Day 1 (as always) went really well.  I didn&#8217;t get EVERYTHING on my to do list done, but I wasn&#8217;t afraid to delegate tasks that weren&#8217;t complete to Christian and schedule other things for a date that was more appropriate.</p>
<p>Last night was the first day that I was tempted to skip jogging, but Christian pushed me into it.  It only took a soft nudge, but I&#8217;m glad to have that accountability partner.  And I blew away my last distance for our current run! 1.57 miles! Almost to my 1.6&#8230; I think I&#8217;ll beat that one next time.  My knees have still been bugging me during my walking, causing me to walk at 2.8 instead of 3.0, but I have found 5.2 to be more comfortable for my jogging pace. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>I completed all of my evening routine last night, and felt really great about it.  And of course I stretched before the work out, so those days are easy to hit.  Stretching is probably the main focus of this 21 session.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I did really great with my last cycle till the last day or two when I was on vacation and pretty much just gave up.  I&#8217;ve been keeping up for the most part with the 6 a day, which is better than I&#8217;d be doing without it.  For now, I&#8217;m happy with continuing at about that until things settle down a bit with the new job and Christian&#8217;s new job prospects.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve decided on a next cycle.  I&#8217;m going to try just focus on simplifying my life.  I want to be able to mark things that need to get done and then not worry about them anymore as well as buid a stronger night routine.</p>
<p>So my goals are this:</p>
<p>* Use Todoist Daily &#8211; I think this is my favorite site I&#8217;ve found thus far for task management&#8230;. mostly because of the ease I can set tasks for future dates. &lt;3  This will let me scheduled tasks for achievable days and not feel overburdened.  It&#8217;ll also bring structure to my day.  My goal is NOT to complete the entire list every day, but rather to just keep checking on it daily.</p>
<p>*Work out 3 times per week (5k training)</p>
<p>*A better after work/evening routine &#8211; I&#8217;d like to start building up a better evening routine.  Most key: Flossing (back to daily), stretching (esp my legs), moisturizing my face, and using lotion.</p>
<p>With all the craziness I&#8217;m not looking for perfection this round,  but mostly just trying to keep track of todos and mainting what&#8217;s important to me while making the swap to my new position (oh yeah, I got promoted for those that don&#8217;t know already).</p>
<p>My other main focus? Is to slow down and take more time for me, for enjoying life with friends and family (i.e. Christian and Bowser). </p>
<p>I really don&#8217;t want to overlaod myself, just add a few things to help bring peace into my life.  To let me take care of things at my own pace, keep track of the things that need to be done and to release that feeling that it all needs to be done RIGHT NOW.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll try to add a few things each week to make my life run more smoothly (such as going through my filing cabinet, organizing my paperwork, switching purses, going through and deleting old emails, etc).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Another work out kicked my ass!!  I got towards the end of it and I was pushing through and I had my first thread of doubt about the entire thing.  When I asked Christian if I could do this he laughed and said he was asking himself the same question.  Then he pointed out we did over a mile and a half.  And that we only had to do twice what we did today for a 5k.  He said we&#8217;re half way there and we still have nearly 3 months to train.  It made me feel A LOT better. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>I think a lot of the down was just feeling worn out.  Not from working out (that was pretty much the best part of the day besides from relaxing with Christain at the end of the night), but from just working so hard before and after work to get all my stuff together and done.  I just haven&#8217;t had much me time to really enjoy life lately because I&#8217;ve been so busy.</p>
<p>Christian set aside a few things this weekend (we&#8217;re pretty much going to use ALL OF our gift certificates) to have some romance and time together this weekend.  We really need it.  I&#8217;m so glad I have a 4 day weekend, because I just feel drained.</p>
<p>I did fail to both floss and change the litter last night or do the dishes for that matter.  I was just too tired.  I did get the laundry done and my jog and my veggies in and that was going to have to be enough.</p>
<p>I may wait till Friday to get my license just so I can focus on having some me time and relaxation time tonight and Thursday.  I know Thursday night Christian and I are watching True Blood and having some Long Islands (probably 1 each&#8230;) together to let loose after the last few weeks of productivity.  I need to remember to take care of myself, too.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday went pretty well.  Christian made some awesome Fish Burritos that were flipping amazing and had my final veggies of the day (and then some) packed inside.  We had blueberries for dessert.. I know I hit at least 7 yesterday, but it could have been 8.  The first week gusto has definitely worn down.  I no longer am blowing away my goal without trying, but having to work for it again. Le sigh.  I&#8217;ll probably have to step up to 7 next instead of 8.</p>
<p>I surprised myself last night by changing the litter even when I had given myself permission not to (as I don&#8217;t feel like it&#8217;s sticking), but something wouldn&#8217;t let me.  I did miss flossing last night though.  Which means I&#8217;m still flossing 6 days a week at least and I&#8217;m okay with that.  That&#8217;s enough of a pull forward.  I still feel like that habit is a success.</p>
<p>This was especially surprising because I worked early the next day and was up 40 minutes past my bed time.  I just wanted to go to bed but I couldn&#8217;t do it without changing that litter.  Crazysauce!!</p>

<p>We also started week 2 of 5k training and man, did it kick both of our asses.  It didn&#8217;t look like that much of a step up, but that little bit extra required quite the push.  Right now Christian and I are pretty sure we&#8217;re going to have repeat this week once in order to feel confident moving on.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s kind of pathetic that a minute and a half of jogging can be a lot, but when you have to hit it again and again, it just starts to wear.  The next up involves two spirts of running for 3 minutes (and two at 90 seconds) and I want to be ready for that next push up.  For running for 3 minutes straight! </p>
<p>Which is funny, because I&#8217;ve definitely done it before when it felt good, but I knew when I was done I didn&#8217;t have to go back up again if it didn&#8217;t feel great.  Training requires more of a push.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong, it still went great and I still felt fantastic after, but I definitely had to push to get there.</p>
<p>On the plus side, I did 1.5 miles which felt pretty good.  I&#8217;m looking forward to doing more and more.</p>
<p>Oh! I forgot to mention this on my last post, but I spent a good chunk of Saturday evening looking up other training programs to do everything from a 10k to a marathon to an Ironman.  I don&#8217;t think I would ever have the will to do an Ironman, but I would like to work my way up to a marathon.</p>
<p>Angie and I even made a goal to do one together 2015.  Which is pretty awesome for a pair with bad knees who never even thought they&#8217;d be able to run at all again. <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p>Today was very productive though in that I got a rediculous amount of stuff done.  So that was nice.  I do suck at making my back posts detailed. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Another successful day!  I got my new shoes (which are totally awesome) and we did do our workout today, but since A.) I was breaking in my new shoes and B.) we were in a hurry to meet up with friends for a board game night and thus didn&#8217;t stretch as well as we normally do (without even realizing it), we ended up taking the workout a little more lax than previously.</p>
<p>It still felt good, but not as amazing as when I was able to full out run and really release myself.  I&#8217;m wearing my shoes constantly between now and Sunday in order to get them ready for my next jog and we both agreed that I&#8217;d walk us through our full set of stretches nice and slow before every workout from here on out.</p>
<p>On the plus side my bad knee didn&#8217;t bother me at all!! I just could tell that my right leg wasn&#8217;t stretched enough to push too hard.  It felt tight. Boo!</p>
<p>Did get all the fruits and veggies in easy again.  Also, forced myself to do the kitty liltter just before midnight when we got home though I was dog tired.  Though I did skip flossing, but only cause it was so late.  (Thankfully, it&#8217;s not this week&#8217;s goal).</p>
<p>The not as successful workout did reinforce something with me though and that&#8217;s that next cycle I&#8217;m definitely going to add daily stretching into my routine.  I&#8217;m a lot more flexible than I was  a year ago, but I want to get even more so&#8230; and a lot of that has to do with the fact that it&#8217;ll be better for my running.  Another, how funny is that.</p>
<p>I did notice this morning that I&#8217;m definitely a bit slimmer than I was a couple weeks ago.  I put on jeans (my tell all) and a tank top and glanced up and thought I looked slimmer, upon closer examination I realized I have very little to no &#8221;love handle&#8221; hanging over the top at all again, which made me happy. (Not that I was hanging over before all that much, but I could definitely tell the difference)  I look forward to finding time to jump on the scale this weekend and test my theory.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Another day where I went over and above on fruits and veggies!  I hit 8 yesterday.  I was unusually hungry last night though (as I get once a month&#8230;) and so ended up eating half a muffin after dinner (and my desert peach) and it was definitely too much.  It was a good reminder that I&#8217;m still learning this fruit and veggie thing and that it will take awhile for me to master the healthy eating thing.</p>
<p>If I was on an official diet, I think I&#8217;d really feel guilty about it, but since I&#8217;m just striving for excellence?  I wrote it off as a learning experience and was able to bounce back quickly.  I&#8217;m very excited about more fruits and veggies coming easier.  It makes me wonder what my next goal will be? 8 fruits and veggies? 9?! I doubt I&#8217;ll just go up to 7 since I&#8217;ve been doing so well.  I guess we&#8217;ll see if I still do as well over the weekend.</p>
<p>Kitty litter again last night.  Bowser&#8217;s been pesky lately on and off.  I think we need to focus on spending more time with him.  I feel bad because I&#8217;m so busy getting stuff done that I know he&#8217;s not getting the full attention quotient he was for awhile.  I have been making a point to stopping and petting him and throwing his toy around whenever I cross paths with him and I&#8217;m hoping that helps.  And also I&#8217;ve tried to be understanding when he acts out a little (like jumping up on the counters where he knows he doesn&#8217;t belong).  I think part of it is that since we&#8217;ve changed his water dish for one of the foutain ones he drinks ALL THE TIME.  Which is awesome.  I think with the additional water he&#8217;s just been more active.</p>
<p>We didn&#8217;t get me new shoes last night, but we are planning on picking them after work today.  I packed a pair of my work out socks so I can try them on with the right thickness.  I also did a bunch of research for it yesterday so I&#8217;m looking forward to making the choice!! <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Another day where I hit all 9 fruits and veggies!  Once again, I did have a 2nd glass of juice, but our new juice is just so tasty I couldn&#8217;t resist having some with dinner!!  Also had a variety of fruit and veggie throughout the day including fresh pineapple for deseret again.  It&#8217;s funny how when I do hit the 9 goal that it&#8217;s usually by accident and usually seemed easy.</p>
<p>We also did day 2 of marathon training!!  God, it felt great!! in 25 minutes I did 1.48 miles!!  I felt really fantastic about that.  I really love the 5 min warm up as it gets me excited to break into that first run. </p>
<p>By the end of this program they&#8217;re supposed to train you up to doing 3 miles in 30 minutes!!  That&#8217;s 6.0 miles per hour!!  That&#8217;s a really face pace to maintain for 30 minutes!  Even if it takes me 45 minutes to do the same? I&#8217;m still really stoked about trying to achieve this.  It&#8217;s made me want to push myself a little farther each work out.  I know yesterday I definitely did and it felt fantastic!! <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>After yesterday&#8217;s work out I just felt healthier, which was awesome.  My lungs felt so open and fresh&#8230; like they were ready to take on the world.  My legs felt charged with excitement&#8230; like I&#8217;d been holding them back my entire life and finally let them loose on the world.  I just felt healthier.  I could tell that keeping down this path will result in my hitting my goal weight and feeling happier, healthier and more alert.</p>
<p>Having a purpose to my workouts greater than just &#8220;I want to burn calories&#8221; makes them so much more worth while.  I love it!</p>
<p>I really need to pick up a new pair of shoes though.</p>
<p>Oh, I also cleaned out the kitty litter last night.  With all the other exciting stuff going on, this seems like the lamest thing in the world to mention after it. <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
